Ché Frye (2002)

Ché Frye

Ché completed an Honours year in Accounting in 2001 as part of a combined Commerce/Law degree at the University of Melbourne. His Honours thesis investigated the incidence and characteristics of earnings management in firms that included management earnings forecasts in their IPO prospectus. Prior to taking up the Graduate Intern position, his background included:

  • tutoring at The University of Melbourne (2001); and
  • piano tuition (1998 to 2002).

During the internship Ché worked on a range of projects, including disclosures in financial reports (the “trilogy”), tax, investment property, share-based payment, director, executive and related party disclosures and service concessions.

Ché has an interest in music and has also been studying towards a Diploma in Music, specialising in piano performance, at the University of Melbourne. He was invited to join the Australian National Academy of Music in 1998. Ché is also interested in historical aspects of piano performance and maintains a website www.argerich.org devoted to the artistry and recordings of the pianist Martha Argerich.

At the end of his internship, Ché returned to university to complete the law and music components of his degree.
