AASB Graduate intern program - Previous interns

Crystal Zhang (2005)

Crystal Zhang

Crystal completed her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours), majoring in Accounting and Business Law at the University of Sydney in 2004. Her thesis focused on the contract stage of Public Private Partnership (PPP) prisons in Victoria. The study used Transaction Cost Economics theory and the Van der Meer & Kooistra model to examine how PPP prison contracts allocated costs, transferred risks, and assigned property/decision rights from the public sector to the private contractors. The secondary focus of the study was to see if there was a mismatch between the transaction environment, transaction characteristics and party characteristics and governance mechanisms adopted via the comparison amongst three prison contracts of dissimilar time periods.

During her internship with the AASB, Crystal worked on several projects, including Financial Instruments, Service Concessions and Intangible Assets.

After completing the Graduate Intern Program Crystal moved back to Sydney to take up a position with PWC in their Global Capital Markets Group. She also continued her CA studies.
