Paul Kandelas (2004)

Paul Kandelas

Paul graduated from The University of Sydney in 2003 with Honours in Accounting and Finance. His thesis examined the impending issue of mandatory expensing of executive and employee stock options in Australia. It tested theories relating to what types of companies actually use such instruments, as well as looking at the impact of such a Standard change on companies Financial Statements and similar issues such as recognition versus disclosure and option pricing models.

Prior to taking up a position at the AASB, Paul worked as a tutor, teaching Accounting 1A at Sydney University in 2003.

During his internship with the AASB, Paul worked on several projects, including financial instruments joint ventures. After completing the Graduate Intern Program, Paul returned to Sydney to commence the Reserve Bank of Australia’s graduate program working in the Accounting Analysis & Policy section of the Financial Administration department. Paul has also continued with his CA studies.
