Rutendo Kaviya

Rutendo graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2007 where she majored in Accounting (Honours) and Finance. Rutendo's Honours thesis examined the effect of female corporate leaders on the level of earnings management, in particular female signing audit partners and female board members.

Prior to her position with the AASB, Rutendo completed an internship in the Finance and Administration Department of Officeworks and held a range of part-time/casual positions. In 2006 she was the Treasurer of the Deakin University Rotaract Club and was also involved in several volunteer programmes for the Australian Red Cross and the youth group of the St Vincent de Paul Society, Vinnies Youth.

At the AASB, Rutendo will be working on a number of projects, including related party disclosures, conceptual framework, GAAP/GFS convergence, social policy obligations, service concessions and budget reporting.

In her spare time, Rutendo enjoys watching movies, sight-seeing and playing chess. Later this year she will commence the CA Program.

After completing the AASB Graduate Program, Rutendo accepted a position at Deloitte.
