Sabine Schührer (2006)

Sabine Schührer

Sabine completed her studies as Diplom-Kauffrau at the University of Mannheim, Germany in 2005, majoring in tax and public and non-profit management and economic geography. Her thesis analysed the developments of Accounting Standards in the Australian Public Sector in a social, political and economical context.

Prior to commencing at the AASB, Sabine’s background included:

  • Student research assistant at the University of Mannheim;
  • Trainee at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Karlsruche, Germany; and
  • Trainee at the Department of Human Services in Australia.

During her time at the AASB she has been involved with the GAAP/GFS Harmonisation Project (AASB 1049), Insurance Contracts and Land Under Roads.

After her Graduate Intern year, Sabine accepted a permanent position at the AASB as an Assistant Project Manager. She has since completed a secondment at the Auditor General’s Department of South Australia, where she was exposed to a wide range of public sector accounting and auditing issues.
