Appointment – Chair of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board
The Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) welcomes the the appointment of Professor Roger Simnett as new Chair of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AUASB).
AASB Chair, Kris Peach said, “On behalf of the AASB we congratulate Professor Simnett on his appointment as Chair of the AUASB. We look forward to working with him in setting quality Australian accounting and auditing standards in the public interest”.
She also noted the AASB welcomes the extension of current AUASB Chairman Merran Kelsall’s term until 31 March 2017 to facilitate Professor Simnett commencing from 1 April 2017.
