AASB Conceptual Framework Discussion Forums and Disclosure Initiative Education Sessions

Conceptual Framework
The AASB will be conducting outreach in August and September to seek specific engagement with and comment from constituents on selected topics relating to the IASB’s Conceptual Framework proposals.

The purpose of the AASB Discussion Forum is to provide a forum for constituents and Board members to discuss issues included in ED 264 Conceptual Framework for Financial Reporting and ED 265 Updating References to the Conceptual Framework, which will assist the AASB in forming their comments on the Exposure Drafts.  The agenda and discussion points will be provided closer to the time.

Sue Lloyd, a member of the IASB, will be visiting Australia in August and will be in attendance at the Melbourne and Sydney forums.

Disclosure Initiative
The AASB will also be hosting an education session in Melbourne and Sydney on the IASB’s Disclosure Initiative project.  Ms Lloyd will speak at the sessions, which will cover the proposed Materiality Practice Statement and the IASB’s Principles of Disclosure project, followed by a question and answer session.
