On 9 September 2024, the Australian Government House of Representatives confirmed the Senate amendments to the Treasury Laws Amendment (Financial Market Infrastructure and Other Measures) Bill 2024. This means that only Royal Assent remains for the Bill to formally become an Act. This process should occur within the next 7-10 days.
The AASB will be holding a virtual public meeting soon after Royal Assent when the Board will consider the draft standards and formally vote on these.
This is the culmination of more than two years activity and the AASB would like to thank all those that contributed along the journey of creating the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (Panel Members, Stakeholders that attended meetings and provided comments), ISSB Staff and Board Members, National Standard Setters, AASB Board members and Staff). Without all your commitment we would not been able to get to this point.
