Angus Thomson

Technical Principal

Angus is a respected expert in the field of standard setting and accounting practice.  His strong background in finance and insurance has enabled Angus to play a key role in shaping accounting standards at both national and international levels. 

Angus has held previous roles with the International Accounting Standards Board, the ASX and two of the Big 4 firms. His experience as both standard setter and preparer mean Angus provides a balanced and pragmatic approach to his work with a focus on stakeholder engagement. This is most recently evidenced through his contribution to the development of the public sector modifications to AASB 17 Insurance Contracts.

Angus is currently a Fellow of CA ANZ.
