More detail can be found in the AASB S2 Implementation Advisory Panel Terms of Reference

Operating procedures

The Advisory Panel will meet periodically to discuss potential questions arising from the implementation of AASB S2. Any stakeholder can submit questions based on the guidelines below.

Each submission will be evaluated to identify questions for discussion at Advisory Panel meetings. A log of submissions, meeting agenda and discussion summaries will be posted.

During Advisory Panel meetings, Panel members share their views on the issues. The Advisory Panel does not make interpretations of how to implement AASB S2 or issue authoritative guidance.

Submission guidelines

The AASB encourages stakeholders to submit potential implementation questions for consideration by the AASB S2 Implementation Advisory Panel.

Questions submitted to the Advisory Panel should meet all the following three criteria:

  1. the question relates to:
    1. the implementation of an Australian-specific requirement in AASB S2; or
    2. the Australian-specific implementation of a paragraph in AASB S2 that is aligned with IFRS S2; and
  2. the question indicates that AASB S2 can be applied in different ways, resulting in possible diversity in practice; and
  3. the question is expected to be pervasive (i.e. relevant to a range of stakeholders).

If you are unsure whether your implementation question relates to an Australian-specific issue, you are encouraged to submit your question. AASB staff can help direct the question to the appropriate forum for consideration if it meets the relevant criteria.

Submissions

Once you have determined that your question meets the criteria for submission, please complete the submission form and email it to [email protected]. In addition to the form, attachments (such as memos) may be included with the submission.

Submitted forms will remain private. However, the questions raised in the forms may be shared in public meeting summaries without the identification of the submitter’s name or organisation. Although the submission forms will remain private, please do not include any confidential information in your submission.
