CLIMATE REPORTING IMPLEMENTATION LEAD - Shape Australia's sustainability reporting landscape

The Australian Accounting Standards Board (AASB) is responsible for delivering accounting and sustainability reporting standards that promote consistency, comparability, and transparency and contribute to stakeholder confidence in Australia’s economy.
We have an opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced Climate Reporting Implementation Lead to join our Sustainability Reporting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and project manage the AASB’s work supporting the implementation of AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures
- Lead stakeholder engagement, education and outreach activities
- Actively monitor implementation issues, trends and research to assess the materiality of these issues and to inform the AASB’s implementation-related activities
- Contribute to ongoing engagement with international and national standard setters
- Manage and develop staff within the AASB's Sustainability Reporting team
Qualifications and Experience:
- 10+ years’ relevant practical experience relating to one (or a combination) of the following:
- climate-related practices (e.g. reporting, assurance or policy)
- greenhouse gas measurement and/or reporting
- sustainability-related practices (e.g. reporting, assurance or policy)
- Familiarity with climate and/or sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g. AASB S2, IFRS SDS, TCFD)
- Proven senior level project management and delivery experience
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Qualifications in accounting/commerce and/or sustainability, science or engineering
Attributes:
- Proven track record in sustainability and corporate reporting (e.g., Senior Sustainability Reporting or Corporate Reporting role)
- Ability to analyse complex technical issues
- Adaptability to work in a dynamic, evolving field
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach to problem-solving
